WinSec Controller for SteelHead

Windows fileshares communicate via SMB traffic. This is in the top 3 traffic types which traverse SteelHeads today. Not only are we able to optimize the SMB 3.1 traffic, we can optimize signed SMB, and MAPI traffic from Exchange servers.

Many customers today are not able to take advantage of SteelHead optimization, often because of control and security concerns between the networking and Active Directory groups in the company.

WinSec Controller is a new method to allow SMB optimization.WinSec Controller gets optimization information it needs from Microsoft Active Directory Servers. Since it is installed locally to the AD servers, meets Microsoft's tiered security model, and provides visibility and control to AD administrators. For customers who have been unable to use existing SMB optimization methods, joining directly the AD domain with a privileges, this can be a way to create more value with their existing SteelHead investment.
