SteelConnect FlexVNF and Controller

The SteelConnect EX FlexVNF software consists of a multitenant, single software stack that natively runs multiple services, such as routing, security, and other network-based functions. FlexVNF provides fully integrated Layer 4 through Layer 7 functions in platform-based software packages, including OVA, QCOW2, and ISO. The same software can be used to provide the data and control plane functionality element – SD-WAN Controller.  The FlexVNF does not require a license when configured as an SD-WAN controller.

Note: The FlexVNF software, when used as a gateway or CPE must be installed on a Riverbed certified appliance, which includes the SteelConnect EX-580, EX-780 and EX-3080.  As a controller it can be installed in private clouds on hypervisors (KVM and ESXi), and in public clouds (such as AWS, Azure, and GCP).
